Jailbreak iOS 5 On iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod Touch With Redsn0w 0.9.8
A few minutes ago, the Dev-Team released Redsn0w 0.9.8b1, this version of Redsn0w can tethered jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS iPad and iPod Touch on iOS 5.0 Beta released on Monday by Apple for developers only. In this article we are providing you our step-by-step guide that will allow you to install Cydia on iOS 5.
Jailbreak iOS 5 is a tethered jailbreak for now and this guide is ONLY for Mac, The main use of the guide is only intended for developers IOS Dev Center.
For Windows Users: How to Jailbreak iPhone 4 on iOS 5 Using RedSn0w for Windows
Important Note: UNLOCKERS AND THOSE PRESERVING THEIR UNLOCKABLE BASEBANDS SHOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS! You will very likely lose your unlockable baseband if you try to install iOS 5.

You need to Download Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 for Mac
Update or restore your device to iOS 5 using iTunes 10.5 Beta
Step 1. Make sure you install iOS 5.0 beta 1 on your device and you download the new version of Redsn0w.
Step 2. Launch Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 and select the firmware file 5.0 beta 1.
Step 3. Select “Install Cydia” and click “Next.” you can also modify, enable or disable other options. You can choose to check this option or not, the only thing that must remain always ticked is “Install Cydia”.
Step 4. Make sure you have your device connected to the PC is switched off. Click Next and follow the onscreen instructions to send it in DFU mode: To go into this mode, you press the “Power” button, then press “Power” and “Home” key. Finally, after a few seconds, you will need to release “Power” and continue to hold the “Home” key until it will start the installation.
Step 5. After that start the jailbreak process, which may take several minutes. Once finished, you’ll find yourself with IOS 5.0 beta 1 jailbroken and Cydia ready to be configured by the device.
Restarting in Tethered Mode
To restart your iPhone after jailbreak and solve the problem of white Cydia icon from the first reboot) you will need:
1. Start again Redsn0w.
2. Select “Just boot tethered right now.”
3. Reset the iPhone in DFU mode.
4. Wait for the restart of the iPhone.
Note: This is a guide for tethered jailbreak of iOS 5 beta 1, we do not recommend to everyone to use this procedure that may cause harm to your own devices. Proceed only if you know what you’re doing.
