As we know that the launch of the next generation Apple iPhone 5 is coming on Tuesday. This time we are not going to have Steve Jobs for the key note presentation at the event but instead, Apple’s New CEO Tim Cook will be giving it for us. So, this looks like a very right time and a device for Cook’s unofficial debut as Apple’s CEO.

iPhone 4, which is still topping the charts in smartphone market, its next generation model will be unveiled to the world this Tuesday. This is going to be Tim Cook’s first product launch after his appointment and Steve Jobs’ resignation as the CEO. Well, so much of the anticipation, we even don’t know the actual name of the device. Many people are claiming that it will be iPhone 5, the Live stream launch event of iPhone 5 will make it obvious to everyone. The so called iPhone 5 is highly expected to bring bigger touch screen and the same processor as the iPad 2 with it. So, the main challenge to the Apple is that how they are going to surprise the customers by adding new mind-blowing features in this device. On the other hand, the device’s predecessor, the iPhone 4 is also currently holding the title of the most selling smartphone in the market, as 20 million iPhone 4 were sold in the third quarter.

But that’s not it, iPhone 4 which defined the smartphone category is now facing the competition with Android, which is at its peak now days. Yes, because Google’s Android based devices are running along by selling 550,000 smartphones and tablets every day globally.

So, it is going to be a big day for Tim Cook, as he is going to give his first key notes speech for the iPhone 5 and all of the investors will also be much interested in seeing the person who will be holding the company’s future in his hands now.

As, Apple Product Launches are the most seen events of the Silicon Valley, so, it is expected that this so called new iPhone 5 is highly expected to have a bigger display screen, better antenna and also an 8 MP camera, other main iPhone 5 Features will finally be public on October 4. Apple made its previous major events in San Francisco but this mega event will be taking place in Silicon Valley.

It is highly expected that Apple’s co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs who resigned from his designation in August due to health issues, is going make an appearance at the event, but if he does not, it will not be majorly disappointment.

When Apple launched its first iPhone in 2007, it was a huge success in the smartphone industry, as they combined their computer and music player to transform the future of the company. Now, iPhone earns 40% of the revenue for the company and its margins are estimated at roughly 60%. But it is facing very tough competition from Android based phones mainly Samsung’s Galaxy series smartphones. As according to Neilson’s data, in August, iPhone 4 was on no. 2 in US market as Android was at the top. But for long term planning, investors are expecting Apple to push their focus into emerging markets, mainly Asian.

Cook said that China is a key market and that is why Apple has opened many of its stores in that region and is trying to capture the markets by introducing cheaper phones.
